Colorado officials are thanking firefighters for their quick action after multiple fires threatened nearby homes.

A “Fire Train” arrived in Colorado on Monday, the day after a series of fires sparked along train tracks in Douglas County and burned 130 acres, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.

On Tuesday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said a man and a woman were arrested on several charges. The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to a verbal disturbance to find a man and a woman walking through a parking lot.

Crews in Douglas County continued battling the Airport Fire on Monday, which has burned 130 acres and is 90% contained.

The firenadoes that formed during the brush fire on Sunday near Louviers were unusual, said 9NEWS Weather Impact Team meteorologist Chris Bianchi.
