In their first ever Major League Soccer game, San Diego FC traveled just over 100 miles up north to Carson to face the reigning MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy in a brand new California rivalry.

San Diego FC enjoyed a debut to remember by stunning MLS Cup defending champions LA Galaxy 2-0 on Sunday in a win fueled by the thunderous backing of fans who made the trip north to Los Angeles.

San Diego FC will officially enter the sports world at 4 p.m. Sunday, when the club takes the field in Carson for its inaugural match against the LA Galaxy. The newborns will be dressed in blue — the team calls it azul — and eager to make an impact in Major League Soccer during a match that will be broadcast on Apple TV and both English and Spanish radio.
