The FIFA World Cup final will have a halftime show for the first time in history when it comes to New Jersey's MetLife Stadium in 2026.

The MetLife Stadium in New Jersey — to be known as New York New Jersey Stadium for the World Cup — will host the final on July 19, 2026. FIFA is also staging what its president Gianni Infantino called a “takeover” of Times Square for the final weekend of the tournament, which will be co-hosted by the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, the 2026 tournament final will feature a Super Bowl-style halftime show, bringing an expanded entertainment element to soccer's biggest event. The move marks a departure from the long-standing tradition of keeping the final match focused solely on the game.
