The Mavericks have agreed to a 2-year, $13 million contract with D'Angelo Russell in NBA free agency to serve as Kyrie Irving's backup.

Powell will potentially enter a new era in franchise history if Dallas drafts Flagg on Wednesday night.

A person with knowledge of the deal says the Dallas Mavericks and Kyrie Irving have agreed on a $119 million, three-year contract with the All-Star guard still recovering from a torn ACL that will sideline him into the 2025-26 season.
