School districts across Northeast Ohio have canceled classes today as a precaution from the extreme cold that has settled over the region. Most of Northern Ohio is under a cold weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

Some neighborhood roads remain icy after Sunday’s snow, and wind chills are forecast to drop to near zero early Tuesday. Cold weather advisories are in effect throughout the region from 7 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday and from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Thursday. Some schools announced delayed openings and cancellations Tuesday.

An intense Arctic air mass is set to bring dangerously cold conditions to southern Wisconsin. Officials issued an extreme cold warning for much of the region through Tuesday morning.
