Students in Dallas ISD and many other local school districts headed back to class on Friday for the first time since the winter storm hit North Texas. Only a few districts in Denton County remained closed.

North Texas is feeling the impact of the winter storm that is sweeping across the region. With forecasts calling for freezing rain, sleet and snow, roads are expected to be hazardous.

Two major North Texas school districts, Dallas and Fort Worth ISD, have announced that all schools in their distrcits will be closed Wednesday due to the ongoing dangerous cold and icy conditions.
