Blades Brown and Michael Block can boast that they were on the same level as Scottie Scheffler, at least in the first round of the Charles Schwab Challenge.

The one man who had no problems getting around Colonial on Thursday was John Pak, who shot a bogey-free 63 to jump out to a three-shot advantage at 7 under. Pak eagled his first hole of the day at the par-5 10th and got hot in the middle of his round with four birdies over a stretch of six holes from No. 17 to No. 4.

Scheffler is rapidly approaching the point where he won’t be competing with the players on the leaderboard, he’ll be competing against the players in record books.

Scheffler could become just the second player in history to win both North Texas PGA TOUR stops in the same year.

The Charles Schwab Challenge begins Thursday at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Split-tee action begins at 8 a.m. EDT. PGA Championship winner Scottie Scheffler and defending Schwab winner Davis Riley (along with Daniel Berger) go out at 1:45 p.m.
