The New York Rangers confirmed a setback to their goaltending situation Tuesday, placing Igor Shesterkin on injured reserve following his early exit in Monday’s loss to the Utah Mammoth. Shesterkin went down midway through the first period after his left leg bent awkwardly during a collision with Utah forward JJ Peterka near the crease.
