According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, assistant coach Alex Jensen has accepted the job to become the next Utah Utes men’s basketball head coach. Utah fired Craig Smith, who was was in his fourth season in charge of the program, last month. He was 65-62.

Jensen was a former star player at Utah. This move comes amid a number of trades and injuries among the Mavericks.

Alex Jensen will take over for Craig Smith, who was fired last month after nearly four seasons with the program.
