The Chicago Bears engaged in trade talks with the Pittsburgh Steelers to try and land Mike Tomlin to be their next head coach, but the Steelers rejected the overtures, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said.

Just days after Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin reiterated his plans to remain in Pittsburgh, the longtime Steelers coach is still receiving interest. The Chicago Bears and at least one other team have contacted the Steelers about Tomlin’s availability in a trade, according to a league source.

We all knew there would be options for the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason when it comes to head coach Mike Tomlin. Despite his postseason struggles, Tomlin’s resume is as good as any in the NFL minus a handful of names so there will always be teams who hope Tomlin’s message will be fresh for their team where it’s gone stale in Pittsburgh.
