The opening Grand Slam on the tennis calendar got underway on Sunday with a handful of matches.

Earlier this month, Tennis Australia, the country’s governing body for the sport, announced it was boosting the prize pool to a record $74.9 million in U.S. dollars, a 16% jump from last year.
