Will “Thunderbolts” bring the box office thunder? Disney’s latest Marvel superhero adventure is targeting $70 million to $75 million in its opening weekend, providing another needed jolt to movie theaters after the one-two punch of “A Minecraft Movie” and “Sinners.

More specifically, Sinners now holds the record for smallest second-weekend drop of any film opening to more than $40 million since 2009’s Avatar, and any R-rated film, period, the outlet reports. The $90 million title’s domestic tally has now surpassed $120 million,

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has already proven itself a box-office killer — its second weekend made $45 million domestically, just 6 percent lower than its $48 million opening weekend. The film’s worldwide gross is officially at $161 million.
