A local police officer who was on administrative leave was shot during an “armed confrontation” with fellow officers who were serving her with a restraining order earlier this week.

North Andover, Massachusetts police officer Kelsey Fitzsimmons is in stable condition, a day after she was shot​ by a fellow officer as she was served with a restraining order.

The shooting came just days after the 28-year-old officer dropped a petition to review a decision to strip her of a firearms identification card.
