The casting of Paapa Essiedu as Snape has set off controversies from many different sides of Harry Potter fandom, or even outside of that, for multiple reasons.

With Deadline, however, reporting that character actor and undeniable hunk Paapa Essiedu might be closing in on the role in HBO’s forthcoming television adaptation of Rowling’s series, we may soon have to reckon with the notion of an objectively hot Snape.

The Harry Potter HBO series is in negotiations with Janet McTeer to play Minerva McGonagall and Paap Essiedu is near a deal to play Severus Snape.
