Way-too-early 2025 college football top 25: Our rankings and where Penn State lands
Here we have our way-too-early 2025 college football rankings. These rankings can and likely will change by time I map out my preseason Associated Press top 25 ballot in August. But for now, here’s my initial crack at a top 25 for the 2025 season.

The only three teams ranked ahead of Penn State in the early top 25 from 247Sports are Texas (no. 1), Georgia (no. 2), and Ohio State (no. 3). After anemic demand for some early-round CFP games, Buckeyes and Irish fans are snapping up championship tickets.
