Tottenham: Thomas Frank reveals plan for Richarlison as Spurs bid to limit Brazilian's injury risk
Thomas Frank warned Tottenham must be cautious with Richarlison ’s fitness as he called for patience after the forward’s brace against Burnley. Richarlison led the line as Spurs began the Premier League season with a 3-0 win over the Clarets and scored the first two goals of the match.
Tottenham are really keen to get Cristian Romero tied down to a new contract after appointing him captain, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey. Romero called Frank a ‘good coach’ after he chose him to take over from Son Heung-min as the captain of Spurs.
Thomas Frank has shared his strategy to maintain Richarlison’s fitness following the forward’s brace in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Burnley.
Frank is superb at setting his side up to execute specific game plans designed for the toughest opposition. For example, the long-throw auditions held at the start of the pre-season were held with the PSG match, almost a month away, in mind. Kevin Danso’s ability quickly became apparent in training and he duly caused PSG real problems in Udine.
Frank says Spurs are supporting Tel and expects a huge reception for the 20-year-old in Saturday's Premier League opener against Burnley.
Hugely popular club captain Son Heung-min was sold to Los Angeles FC for £18m, while Spurs failed in an attempt to sign England's Morgan Gibbs-White with the midfielder since agreeing a new deal with Nottingham Forest.
