Three Boston College players will compete in the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl on Thursday. Offensive linemen Jack Conley and Drew Kendall as well as defensive tackle Cam Horsley will play on the West team. Conley and Horsley were two of four Eagles to receive first round invites in October of 2024 while Kendall accepted his offer in December.
The East West Shrine Bowl in Arlington has a recognizable logo showing a football player and a little girl that goes back more than 50 years. On Thursday, the two people whose image inspired that logo reunited at the game at AT&T Stadium.
Speaking of pictures, the Shrine Bowl logo was inspired by a photo taken in 1974. The image shows Mike Esposito — then a football player for Boston College wearing No. 26 – comforting a 2-year-old girl named Nicole Urteaga who was a patient at Shriners.
