Social media giant Meta is considering following in the footsteps of Tesla and SpaceX and reincorporating in Texas, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Meta Platforms is in discussions about moving its incorporation from Delaware to Texas or other states, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

In another move to bolster investor confidence, Musk also revealed that Tesla is intent on producing more "affordable" vehicles, which are tipped to be based on (and look eerily similar to) the Model 3 and Model Y, but cost in the region of $30,000 to $40,000 (roughly £28,000 / AU$55,000). Not the $25,000 car that was rumored last year.

Tesla’s fourth-quarter adjusted profits rose slightly amid a big push to sell its electric vehicles with offers of zero financing and other incentives, but the results still fell short of Wall Street forecasts.

Tesla’s driver assistance software, known as full self-driving, or FSD, will see unsupervised tests in Texas, California and other states this year.

Tesla will launch an “unsupervised, no one in the car” robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, in June, Elon Musk said in an earnings call Wednesday. “We just want to put a toe in the water, make sure everything’s okay, put a few more toes in the water, with safety of the general public and those in the car as a top priority,” Musk said.

The bigger news, though, is what Tesla has planned for 2025. In the first half of the year, it’s set to launch “ more affordable ” models. Precise details about these models haven’t been confirmed, although Tesla has been talking about them for quite some time.
