New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Gil has been diagnosed with a high-grade lat strain in his right shoulder and will be out at least a couple of months.

A few pitches into his Friday morning bullpen session, Luis Gil stopped and said he could not go on. The 26-year-old reigning American League Rookie of the Year felt “tightness” in his right arm, said New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone a few hours later.

The Yankees are dealing with more injuries at spring training, as Aaron Boone said Luis Gil will be shut down with a lat strain.
