The entrance to the bridge from lane 14 — one of 18 feeding into the Bay Bridge from the East Bay — has been fenced off since December 2017, when a man who was allegedly drunk drove a box truck through the toll booth and killed the attendant inside.

The tolls for two-axle vehicles increases to $10.75. Tolls for FasTrak customers, who make up the majority of bridge motorists, will be $9.75. For drivers who have a “pay as you go” account, which includes drivers who register their license plates or set up a one-time payment through the district, the toll will be $10.

The cost of commuting on several Bay Area transit agencies, along with driving on the Golden Gate Bridge, has gone up on Tuesday as a series of fare and toll increases take effect.
