Much like its NHL counterpart, the NBA draft lottery ended with a completely shocking result. One week after the Islanders got the No. 1 pick in the NHL draft lottery with a 3.5 percent chance, the Mavericks did the same on Monday night with even smaller odds at 1.8 percent.

After the Islanders, the San Jose Sharks landed the second pick while the Chicago Blackhawks will pick third. The Sharks own a top-five pick for the third straight season after selecting Macklin Celebrini with the top pick in 2024 and Will Smith with the No. 4 pick in 2023.

Temple alum and SportsCenter host Kevin Negandhi will host the draft lottery for ESPN, his first time on the desk for the event. Kendrick Perkins, Bob Myers, and Jay Bilas will serve as analysts, alongside Shams Charania.
