A powerful winter storm system moving across the Great Lakes and Northeast is bringing snow and ice, frigid temperatures and possible whiteout conditions.
The winter weather this weekend caused travel problems during the busiest time of year. On Sunday, more than 10,000 flights were delayed nationwide, according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. On Monday, the disruption was less severe, with less than 500 flights delayed in the U.S., according to the site.
A storm is expected to bring rain and snow to the Los Angeles area this weekend, with gusty winds and possible flooding possible in burn scar areas, forecasters said.
