Some areas of North Texas experienced damage from high winds and rain after the region was under a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch early Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office had a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Dallas County until 6:30 a.

-Damaging winds and tornadoes are the biggest threats, especially in areas shaded red below. The threat of a strong tornado (EF2 or greater damage) is most likely in southern Arkansas, the northern half of Louisiana, central and southern Mississippi, southern Alabama and the western Florida Panhandle.

Severe weather and tornadoes have caused many in the area to be without power. Storms moved through east Texas into Louisiana and brought rain, wind, and tornadic activity to the area and causing major damage.
