Russ Meyer Jr., longtime chair, CEO, and later chairman emeritus of Cessna Aircraft, now known as Textron Aviation, has gone west. Meyer, 93, died in Wichita yesterday after a brief illness.
Russ Meyer was known as the father of the Citation business jet line, which was credited with saving Cessna during a time of upheaval in the 1980s.
He played a key role in the passage of the General Revitalization Act and oversaw the development and launch of the Citation business jets.
