The feud, which the White House Correspondents’ Association has called a violation of the First Amendment and Trump’s own executive order on free speech, began Tuesday and stems from AP’s recent decision to ignore the president’s Day 1 order renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.”

The Associated Press is sticking to its style guidance regarding the name of the body of water between Mexico and the United States -- and the Trump administration is continuing to ban AP reporters from their traditional place in the White House Press Corps as a result.

The White House is indefinitely blocking Associated Press journalists from Air Force One and the Oval Office, escalating a row with the news agency.
