CBS News parent Paramount Global has agreed to pay $16 million to resolve an extraordinary lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump over a “60 Minutes” news report last fall.

Paramount has agreed to pay $16 million to settle a lawsuit in which President Donald Trump alleged that an interview with Kamala Harris, his Democratic opponent for the presidency, that aired on CBS’ “60 Minutes” last year was deceptively edited.

As announced on Tuesday, July 1, Paramount Global said it would pay $16 million to Trump as part of the settlement. Trump previously sued the company after an episode of 60 Minutes in which he claimed his then-presidential rival, Kamala Harris, was edited in a way to make her look better during the election.
