The death toll in Kerr County crept up to 87 on Tuesday as search and rescue teams recovered three more bodies in the flood-ravaged hills of central Texas, according to officials in the county worst hit by the disaster.

At least 82 people have died, including 27 campers from Camp Mystic, following Texas flash floods that caused devastation over the holiday weekend.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said Tuesday that many of those who are not accounted for were staying in state’s Hill Country but did not register at a camp or hotel.
