LOS ANGELES − The Los Angeles City Council kept in place the firing of former Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, following the controversial removal of the chief that led the department through the firestorm that engulfed the region in January.

The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday, March 4, voted to uphold former Fire Chief Kristin Crowley’s removal. In a 13-2 vote, the city council denied Crowley’s appeal to get her job back and sided with Mayor Karen Bass in her decision to replace Crowley as head of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
