Despite being heavily favored, Vanderbilt basketball lost to Arkansas at home Tuesday night, ending a three-game winning streak. The Commodores, now safely in the NCAA tournament, may have lacked the same intensity as the Razorbacks, who were fighting for a tournament berth.

With most NCAA Tournament projections placing the Razorbacks among the last four teams in the field of 68, a win at Vanderbilt (11-17, 1-14) would help move Arkansas back into safer bubble territory. But with a loss, the Razorbacks would be in danger of falling on the wrong side.

The Vanderbilt (20-10, 8-9) were riding a wave of momentum entering Tuesday's contest against the Arkansas (18-12, 7-10) but the wave broke against the shores of Razorback desperation as the Hogs won in Memorial Gymnasium 90-77.
