The Dallas Cowboys were reportedly targeting wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan in the 2025 NFL draft before he was selected by the Carolina Panthers. According to ESPN's Todd Archer, the Cowboys were "prepared" to draft McMillan with the No. 12 overall pick before Carolina added him at No. 8.

Shortly after the selection, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the Los Angeles Rams were attempting to trade up from the 26th overall spot. Teams, per Russini, believed their target was none other than McMillan. And their front office wasn't the only one that tried to secure the All-American.
