The White House said it will still roll out 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada, alongside 10% tariffs on China, on Feb. 1 — and threatened future tariffs on other imports from around the globe.

The White House said on Monday it has noticed that Mexico is "serious" about President Donald Trump's executive order on tariffs, but Canada has "misunderstood" it to be a trade war between the neighboring countries.

Trump campaigned heavily on tariffs and threatened to implement them against Canada and Mexico on Inauguration Day, which was later pushed back to Feb. 1.
