On Sept. 27, members of the Stars and Stripes Pacific team visited the USS Benfold to install a new set of murals depicting the history of the destroyer and its namesake. The USS Benfold was homeported at Yokosuka Naval Base but soon returns to the U.S. The 15th Arleigh Burke-class Guided Missile Destroyer is named in honor of Hospitalman 3rd class Edward Clyde Benfold who was killed in action in 1952 during the Battle of Bunker Hill in the Korean War.
