The Section Commander’s Battle Course (SCBC) is one of the most challenging command and leadership courses in the British Army. It is conducted over a 16 week period at the Infantry Battle School, Brecon. Upon completion of the course and promotion to Corporal, a section commander can find themselves posted to the School of Infantry, working at the Infantry Training Centre Catterick. This is where they will lead new recruits through the mentally and physically challenging 6-month Combat Infantry

Recruits at the Infantry Training Centre Catterick, North Yorkshire have returned ahead of the start of their post-lockdown training. Social distancing measures have been incorporated into their drills following government guidelines. Last week, Infantry Training Centre (ITC) Catterick hosted a Capability Day, giving a chance for the recruits to show off what they do and what they have learnt to members of the public. The visitors were able to get a hands on and experience the equipment that forms part of a soldiers day to day life.
